Following last year's Introducing Theatre Clown, CloWnStePPinG and Plutôt la Vie have joined forces to invite you to Clown Cabaret Scratch Night!
In the clown land, we are all well excited that this is happening!
Clown Cabaret Scratch Night is an evening showcasing scratch performances from some exciting, talented and amazing clowns. And that is why I have decided to put this post together to give you a little hint of the world of the red nose that you will experience on Sunday 30th March...
(of course, THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all the artist involved for sending us their info.)
Be prepared to fall in love with...
(Yes! I really believe that you will totally fall in love with them, ALL OF THEM!!!!!)

Fred is a vintage circus strong man. After long years of taming lions, wrestling bears and lifting dumbbells found his real passion: hula hooping. This is a theatre clown act about masculine and feminine, about desire for a muscular body and a poetic mind in a skillfully choreographed hula hoop act by Jusztina Hermann (Delighters). Since 2011 Fred has toured Europe with great success from music to circus festivals and he never fails to conquer hearts and minds with laughter.

An eccentric and endearing fool, discovering bizarre comic
solutions to life’s simple problems. He is a bewildered, bemused, dancing fool
finding grace in chaos and magic in the mundane.
Based in Scotland since 2005. Clive performs in Edinburgh &
Lothians, from North Berwick to Glasgow, the Borders to Fife and all through the
central Scotland.
A
silent clown, a scientist of sorts, an idiot, finds a secluded spot to have his
lunch. He has prepared a baguette filled to the brim with juicy bacon, teaming
with fresh cut cos-lettuce and glorious sun-ripened, blood-red tomatoes. He is
quite pleased with his creation. Except, in his need for clinicalness he has
wrapped the sandwich in 30 metres of cling-film.

and
Suzanna Ferguson!
Between
2006-2008 I worked as a Street Performer in Barcelona with a Magic Clown act.
On returning to Glasgow in 2008, I trained with Angela de Castro and Eric de
Bont and went on to devise and perform 'Sick' with Martin Danziger (Theatre
Modo) and was subsequently nominated for a CATS award for Best Female
Performance in 2010. I successfully auditioned for Hearts & Minds the same
year and have been working as a Clowndoctor and Elderflower ever since.
Since
2008 I have also worked for Theatre Modo as a Workshop Leader, teaching circus
skills and Street Theatre to challenging teenagers in rural, socially deprived
communities across Scotland.
This
piece is a result of a week long residency with Team Effort! at The Southside
Studios in Glasgow. I set myself the challenge to make a brand new piece of
work in 5 days, and this is it! I am interested in developing a disciplined
creative practice as a clown, where I can work technically, creatively and
collaboratively on a regular basis to spark new ideas and develop them.
Performing live is a crucial part of this development.
